I live in New Zealand and sadly or fridges don't have butter conditioners any more, so it melts in summer and is almost impossible to spread in winter. We used to have a TVC in New Zealand with a cool slogan. 'Butter butters better', and it is sounding like it is much healthier than the margarine on the supermarket shelves.

No surprise that the stand alone butter conditioner is an NZ invention: https://supermarketnews.co.nz/news/the-new-way-to-store-butter/

We do still have that Number 8 wire philosophy that comes from being so far away from most of the world. We might need it again if things carry on the way they are with climate change and the Ukraine invasion. I figure if oil and other imports become scarce New Zealand will be very low down on the priority level of suppliers. We are the perfect country if things get really bad in other parts of the world, but we also need to develop the capability to be self sufficient. We won't run out of butter though :)

I grew up on freshly churned butter made from the milk of my father’s cows…my mom always kept soft butter in the cupboard and if you’ve never made your own honey butter try it… delicious on hot toast! 💛
